I stay awake yearning for new insights
Life has me tapped to the vein
Midnight oil burns my taste
Trapped! In a haze and flow of a dimmer dawn
Tread softly and you will never be wrong

I got a sun in a vial of blood
Let me listen to the stop and thump
Let my chest explode into rays of none
Here I am!
Tethered to skin and bones
Let mucus slide me in
Here's this beating heart I inherit
Something I do not own
Something I can never give

Throw me away as another useless thing
You can see me through my tattered mask
You've known me for the longest time
